Privacy Policy

MoPOS is a point of sale service operated by Moinfotech ("we", "us"). It is available as a web application and an Android/iOS mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use MoPOS, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you register a business or when your employer creates an account for you, we collect your name, username, phone number, and email address.
• Business records. The sales, inventory, customer, supplier, expense, and banking records you enter while running your business. This data belongs to your business — we store and process it only to provide the service.
• Location. If your business uses shop mapping, the app asks for your device's GPS position when you register a shop's coordinates. Location is not tracked in the background.
• Camera and photos. If your business submits report documents (such as banking slips or Z reports), the app asks for camera or photo library access to capture and attach them. Images are used only for those documents.
• NFC. If your business uses customer cards, the app reads the card's identifier via NFC to identify the customer. No other data is read from cards or devices.
• Device information. Basic technical data such as the app version, used to deliver updates and diagnose problems.

Biometric login

If you enable fingerprint or Face ID login, biometric verification happens entirely on your device using its secure hardware. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to or stored on our servers.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Pesapal, a licensed payment provider. Your card or mobile money details are entered on and handled by Pesapal's secure systems — we do not receive or store them. We keep only the payment confirmation (amount, reference, and status) needed to activate your subscription.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the MoPOS service
• To authenticate you and protect your account
• To generate the business reports your organisation uses
• To notify you about your subscription and important service changes
• To provide customer support

Data security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to your business data is protected by authentication tokens and role-based permissions, and each business's data is isolated from other businesses on the platform. On your device, session credentials are stored in the operating system's secure storage.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your business records for as long as your account is active, since they form your business's operating history. If you close your account, you may request deletion of your business's data by contacting us; we will delete it except where we are legally required to retain specific records.

Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

MoPOS is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
